Bible Verses for Sleep
Verses about rest, peace at night, and releasing anxiety before sleep.
Many people open the Bible in the middle of the night. These Bible verses for sleep and rest speak to the anxious mind, the sleepless body, and the restless spirit. Psalm 4:8 is a simple bedtime prayer: 'I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.' Matthew 11:28 is an open invitation: 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' Use these verses as prayers before bed, and as reminders that God watches over you through the night.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6–7
